Germany Customs and Documentation
German customs (Zoll) treats household goods as transfer-of-residence goods (Uebersiedlungsgut). Personal effects are generally free of duty and import VAT if you have lived outside the EU for at least 12 months and have owned and used the items for at least 6 months, and they are imported within 12 months of moving your residence. We prepare your inventory, transfer-of-residence declaration, passport copy, and proof of German address, and submit everything on your behalf.
Germany-Specific Restrictions
German and EU customs are strict on prohibited items: do not pack food, fresh produce, plants, animal products, weapons, or alcohol over the personal allowance. Protected species items (ivory, certain woods) need CITES paperwork. Antiques over 100 years old may need an export licence from the UAE side. We handle household goods and personal effects only; vehicles and live animals are not part of our service.

Yes. Our team prepares your inventory, the transfer-of-residence declaration, customs forms, and supporting documents, and works with a licenced customs agent in Germany for clearance. You provide a passport copy, proof of Germany address, and confirmation that the items have been in your possession for at least 6 months.
Yes, with proper packing and documentation. Electronics should be listed individually with serial numbers. Items under warranty travel best in their original boxes. We do not recommend shipping fragile high-value pieces like fine art or antiques in a shared container; a sole 20ft container is safer.
Yes. We offer secure storage in Dubai before shipment if your move-out date does not align with the container booking. Destination-side storage in Germany can be arranged on request through our partner network, billed by your volume and duration.
Standard transit insurance is included up to a declared value. For higher-value cargo, we offer all-risk insurance at a small percentage of declared value. We strongly recommend it for full-container shipments. Insurance details are itemised in your quote.
